Hi, I’m Kelley.

I am a marketing communication strategist with 20 years of public and private sector experience executing effective data-driven marketing programs. My day job keeps me busy designing marketing communication programs and telling the story of higher ed. In my down time, I help small businesses and non-profit organizations with strategic communication and marketing.

Thanks for stopping by. In this space I share my personal thoughts on marketing and life, and document home renovations, travel and other fun.

A North Carolina native, I grew up in the Sandhills and attended East Carolina University graduating with undergrad and graduate degrees in Communication. My graduate research focused on intercultural patient-provider communication through cultural competence training.

Following my undergraduate graduation, I landed a job in Eastern North Carolina with the intent to move to a metro area after a year or so. Well, that never happened. I found everything I could ever have wanted and more, right here. Now two decades later I am so very thankful, challenged, growing and blessed in my career and life here.

My professional experience includes: social media management, strategic marketing and communication, writing for publication (AP and APA styles), media relations, communication, public relations, branding and project management. A highly motivated team player, I am passionate about health communication and higher ed, and armed with creativity, a sense of urgency and the ability to multi-task.

I’m married to my best friend, and we love our rescued pups. We enjoy traveling, nesting in our 50’s fixer upper, and spending time with family.
